Exceptional inflight entertainment is essential to enhancing the overall passenger experience. With an abundance of titles to choose from, identifying the ideal content offerings that satisfy your passenger’s evolving preferences can be a daunting challenge.

Curating content that drives customer loyalty requires a unique blend of creative expertise and strategic planning. Following Anuvu's impressive track record for picking award-winning content—including nine Oscar wins and 26 nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, and 14 wins out of 18 nominations at the Hong Kong Film Festival—our distribution team shared some of their strategies for acquiring and curating a collection of award-winning and nominated films.

Understanding what’s popular and staying current with trends is crucial to ensure that passengers are moved by the films we acquire. Niche, short-form content such as Moonbug, a multi-channel network with over 9 billion global monthly viewers, and Hot Ones, an internet talk show with over 12.3 million subscribers on YouTube, has gained significant popularity over the last few years. The appeal of such content lies in its ability to cater specifically to the viewers’ interests and passions. In today's fast-paced and dynamic world, we use a variety of tools, local expertise, and studio insights to regularly analyze market data, audience feedback and industry trends to ensure our selection remains relevant and creates a more engaging entertainment experience for our client’s passengers.

3. Partnerships

Partnering with the right brands allows us to embrace niche content, giving passengers a wider range of options that meet their individual preferences and interests. These partnerships are key when it comes to local, regional and global differentiation and can truly differentiate an airline’s brand.

For example, earlier this year we organized an interview with Hong Kong actor Louis Koo for our airline customer, Cathay Pacific, to be featured exclusively on their aircraft in May. During the interview, Koo expressed his passion for movies and actively promoted his latest film, Warriors of the Future, which is distributed by Anuvu. This initiative not only enriches the overall entertainment experience for passengers, but also enables us to stay relevant and competitive in a constantly evolving market.
